Look East for Business Opportunities

Harvard Business School, with strong support from Harvard Kennedy School students this week hosted the largest student-run Asia law and business conference in North America. The Asia Business Conference brought together leaders in law, business, government, and academia to discuss the dynamic commercial developments in Asia today.

Top investors and executives of leading corporations from around the world participated in a variety of business-themed panels including topics such as mergers and acquisitions in China, Trade and E-commerce, Venture Capital and Capital Market Developments.

Legal experts also shared their insights with talks on “Trade and the Trans-Pacific Partnership”, “Capital Markets”, “Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions”, “Outbound Investment and Sovereign Wealth Funds” and “Corruption and the FCPA”.

This was all alongside policy makers, educators, and entrepreneurs, including speakers from HKS who led panels on topic areas such as “Social Enterprise”, “Healthcare”, “Energy”, “Recreating Silicon Valley in Asia” and “Design, Innovation, and Technology”.

“The Conference was a resounding success,” said conference organiser Thomas Allen. “We’ve had a lot of positive feedback including many enquiries about the 2015 event”.
