Legacy Is More Than A Memorial

The media this week is full of reflection and analysis of John F Kennedy’s untimely assassination fifty years ago. Few however have focussed on the true outcome of this crime. That an idea can be far more powerful than an evil deed.

That an ultimately flawed figure can inspire future generations of politicians and public figures.

That the most protected man in the world can be felled by a random mad man rather than organised dark forces. That a vision of pioneer exploration can lead us to the stars.

Let us remember the man. Our school namesake. But let us also use his legend to inspire us.
