Ban Ki-moon: United States acted irresponsibly withdrawing from the Paris Agreement

This is the third episode of our audio interview series. In this episode, Kai speaks to former UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon.  Mr. Ban speaks on his take on climate adaptation, Paris Agreement, the plight of Myanmar, and the human right abuses in North Korea as well as his personal experience working as a civil servant during the military regime in South Korea.

Mr. Ban has served two consecutive terms as the Secretary-General of the United Nations (2007-2016). Having retired from the UN, he has been actively promoting global agenda including SDGs, climate change and woman’s empowerment. Mr. Ban is a Harvard Kennedy School Fisher Family Fellow. He received a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Seoul National University in 1970. In 1985, he earned a master’s degree in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
